Wind Winds me UP

I don't usually mean to come on here and moan about the weather, it's just that today I do. January seems to have come in with a vengeance, it's apparently determined to make sure no one forgets the beginnings of 2007.

Speaking of which, I've decided my (temporary) New Year's Resolution is not to be cold. Every time I pile on the sweaters I always wonder 'Will I be too warm?' Then I walk out the front door and remember the folly of my words. There's no such thing as "too warm" right here right now. When the wind stops blowing, you get the same feeling as when you step off a treadmill: it seems strange that you make forward progress by moving your legs in the traditional sense. And when the rain stops falling you can't even tell, since the wind makes sure it's still flying at you from cars, rooftops, signs, trees, piles of wet leaves, and the sidewalk. Even if it were below freezing it'd be too windy for anything to ice over.

I keep expecting to wake up one day and see the headline "Wind Blows Small Child Into Traffic".
